PROFESSOR ARTHUR SUMMERLEE
Arthur Summerlee is a well respected member of the Royal Zoological Society. He has agreed to
go on the Challenger expedition in order to debunk George Challenger's claim of a "lost world" where dinosaurs roam free.
His speciality is botany, although in his younger days he had dreams of becoming an artist.
Summerlee is a widower. His wife, Anna, died a lingering and painful death. He feels guilty that
she died alone because he lacked the courage to stay with her and watch her waste away in such pain.
Of all the explorers, Summerlee seems to be the first to discover that Marguerite isn't really who she pretends
to be.
