VERONICA LAYTON
Over two decades before George Challenger even heard about the possibility of a world of dinosaurs somewhere
in South America, Thomas and Abigail Layton mounted a huge expedition to the plateau. It was on this expedition that
Veronica was born. She has basically been on her own since the mysterious disappearance of her parents and the others
in the expedition almost 11 years ago (except for a brief period spent with the Amazons), and she knows her way around the
jungle.
The members of the Challenger Expedition were introduced to Veronica when she rescued Ned Malone from the
man-eating mimic plant. She invited them back to her home among the trees and offered to help them search for a way
off of the plateau. In the meantime, she continues searching for her missing parents.
